The First Signs Of Spring Appear In London

A Hoverfly collects pollen from a crocus in Hyde Park as the first signs of Spring begin to show across the United Kingdom on February 24, 2014 in London, England.

After one of the wettest winters on record and severe flooding nature is showing the signs of the arrival of Spring with the first daffodils and crocuses showing their blooms.

Insects Au Gratin Exhibition At Wellcome Collection
Installation designer Susana Soares looks at a 3D printer at the ‘Insects au Gratin’ exhibition at the Wellcome Collection on April 23, 2013 in London, England. 

A team of designers, food scientists and engineers have created an exhibition using a 3D printer to make shapes from a flour mixture created with insects and water. ‘Insects au Gratin’ runs from 23 April to 5 May at Wellcome Collection.

The Southbank’s Skatepark To Be Replaced By Retail Units

A boy shelters from the rain in the South Bank skatepark on April 18, 2013 in London, England. Plans are underway to refurbish the Festival Wing, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Hayward Gallery complex, including the ‘Undercroft’, which would be replaced with new arts venues and retail outlets. 

The skate park, hailed as the birthplace of British skateboarding is to be moved to nearby Hungerford bridge, which has caused anger amongst the skateboarding and bmxing community.
