Contractors carry a newly made headstone in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Bayeux Cemetery on February 7, 2014 in Arras, France. All 4116 headstones will be replaced by the end of February 2014 in preparation for World War One and D-Day Anniversaries. The CWGC makes sure that the 1.7 million people who died in the two world wars are not forgotten. They look after cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations, in 153 countries.The work of maintaining the headstones, cemeteries and memorials is a continuous process.
