New Installation Illuminates Lacock Abbey’s Historic Cloisters
The illuminated cloisters at Lacock Abbey form part of a new installation ‘Into the Light - Illuminating Lacock Abbey’ on January 10, 2013 in Lacock, England.
The historic Lacock Abbey - which is seen as the birthplace of photography and more recently was used to film scenes from Harry Potter - will be seen in a new light for two weeks with illuminations and special effects lighting in the historic cloisters set up by the National Trust.
The lights effects will give a sense of some of the activities which once took place in the Abbey cloisters, putting fires back into fireplaces and projecting colours on the walls which would once have been painted colourfully. The lighting effects, designed to be seen during the day, will also highlight the architectural features in the medieval cloisters.
The installation opens to the public on Saturday January 12, 2013.
